Dubai, United Arab Emirates, July 20, 2022: The Dubai Health Authority(DHA) held a celebration today at its headquarters to raise the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Programme for Government Services Flag for winning the Best Government Initiative award for its ‘Dubai Health Shield’ initiative.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, recently awarded the prestigious Hamdan Bin Mohammed Programme for Government Services Flag to Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

DHA was announced as a winner at the Hamdan Hub 2021, organised by the Dubai Model Centre, affiliated to the General Secretariat of The Executive Council.

H.E. Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi , Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, Eman Al Suwaidi, Senior Director of Dubai Model Centre, raised the flag, in the presence of a group of officials from the Dubai Model Centre and the Authority, marking a new stage of development and achievement.

On this occasion, Al Ketbi said: "Having a Flag that bears the name of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, at the headquarters of the Dubai Health Authority, is a source of pride for all the authority's employees and affiliates, in addition to the fact that winning the banner represents an important incentive to achieve more success, quality and excellence.”

His Excellency stressed that winning the flag is an incentive to further accelerate the pace of work and achieve the goals that the authority, as part of Dubai's strategy and future aspirations, to provide a first-class health model and achieve the highest levels of health well-being.

Al Ketbi praised the great and important role played by the Dubai Model Centre, in order to raise the level of public services in Dubai, and to enable government agencies to raise the level of their services to a global competitive level, stressing that the Dubai Health Authority views this role with appreciation and gratitude, and is very proud of the work with the centre, and benefits from the expertise and competencies of the centre.

The Dubai Health Shield initiative is one of the latest protection and prevention systems for infectious and epidemic diseases in the world, and is based on the best equipment, technologies and smart solutions, in addition to the highest standards and protocols in place internationally, which are based on a selection of specialised and professional cadres.

The victory came as a culmination of the great efforts made by the authority and implemented within the Dubai Health Shield, especially during all stages of addressing the global COVID-19 pandemic, where the effectiveness of the initiative, its potential and its ability to confront any emergency health situation, was reflected in the international community’s praise of the outstanding response and the swiftness of the Emirate of Dubai in dealing with the pandemic, and ensuring the safety of community members in the emirate, so that Dubai is “the most resilient city in the world in combating COVID-19”.
