Drug Control

Dubai Health Authority (DHA) follows the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) in listing the medications in use in UAE, which contain:

Narcotic, Controlled & Semi-controlled Medications, Prescription only Medications (POM) & Pharmacist only Medications, Over the Counter Medications (OTC)

Unified Controlled Medication Platform

The Drug Control Section monitors and dispenses controlled drugs through the Unified Electronic Platform developed by UAE Ministry of the Interior. The electronic system allows doctors and pharmacists to register, prescribe and dispense narcotics and controlled/semi-controlled medications, which facilitate tracking of prescriptions issuance and dispensing.

Follow the steps below for both on-boarding your facility along with clinician registration steps:

Step 1 - Register your health facilities by clicking here

Step 2 - Ensure all the doctors/pharmacists register by clicking here

For facilities that have HIS (Health Information Systems) and require direct integration with the Controlled Medication Unified Platform, please reference to the attached HIS integration pack.
